What does a day in the life of Singaporean overseas interns at Xiantao Data Valley during the summer of 2023 look like? In this article, we look into the lives of two interns from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Yanyu Mao, a double major in Computer Science and Economics, and Yao Wang, a Computer Engineering major. Let's take a closer look at their day at the Data Valley.

According to the Youth Internship Exchange Program jointly signed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China and the Ministry of Education of Singapore, since 2020, efforts have been ongoing to promote the exchange program for 500 college students between Singapore and China. Yubei District, as an important carrier of the China-Singapore Chongqing project, took the lead in promoting youth talent exchange and cooperation through the Xiantao Data Valley as a pilot project. In June 2023, following the successful launch of the National University of Singapore (NUS) internship program, the first batch of Nanyang Technological University students from Singapore arrived at the Data Valley to conduct cross-border on-site internships.

Xiantao Data Valley, as a demonstration point in the field of information and communication for the China-Singapore (Chongqing) interconnection and interoperability demonstration cooperation project, will continue to deepen and comprehensively promote the construction of the Singapore-Chongqing Youth Talent Exchange Station. In the future, it will also promote cross-border internship exchange programs for high-quality young talents from Singapore and "Belt and Road" countries, as well as international high-level innovation talents, from the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, Singapore Polytechnic University, and other Singaporean universities. This effort aims to facilitate internship training and entrepreneurial employment in Chongqing, creating an important platform for youth talent exchange, cooperation, and employment entrepreneurship between China and Singapore.
